| حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا شُعَيْبٌ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي عُرْوَةُ بْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ ، أَنَّ حَكِيمَ بْنَ حِزَامٍ أَخْبَرَهُ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : ” يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أَرَأَيْتَ أُمُورًا كُنْتُ أَتَحَنَّثُ ، أَوْ أَتَحَنَّتُ بِهَا فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ مِنْ صِلَةٍ ، وَعَتَاقَةٍ ، وَصَدَقَةٍ ، هَلْ لِي فِيهَا أَجْرٌ ؟ قَالَ حَكِيمٌ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : أَسْلَمْتَ عَلَى مَا سَلَفَ لَكَ مِنْ خَيْرٍ ” . |

| ´ہم سے ابوالولیمان نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ ہم کو شعیب نے خبر دی، انہیں زہری نے، کہا کہ مجھے عروہ بن زبیر رضی اللہ عنہ نے خبر دی انہیں حکیم بن حزام رضی اللہ عنہ نے خبر دی کہ` انہوں نے پوچھا یا رسول اللہ! ان نیک کاموں کے متعلق آپ کا کیا حکم ہے، جنہیں میں جاہلیت کے زمانہ میں صلہ رحمی، غلام آزاد کرنے اور صدقہ دینے کے سلسلہ میں کیا کرتا تھا کیا ان اعمال کا بھی مجھے ثواب ملے گا؟ حکیم بن حزام رضی اللہ عنہ فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا جتنی نیکیاں تم پہلے کر چکے ہو ان سب کے ساتھ اسلام لائے ہو۔ |

| Narrated `Urwa bin Az-Zubair: Hakim bin Hizam said, “O Allah’s Apostle! I used to do good deeds in the Pre-Islamic period of Ignorance, e.g., keeping good relations with my Kith and kin, manumitting slaves and giving alms. Shall I receive a reward for all that?” Allah’s Apostle replied, “You embraced Islam with all the good deeds which you did in the past.” |
