| حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، وَعَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا سَأَلَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ صَلَاةِ اللَّيْلِ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام : ” صَلَاةُ اللَّيْلِ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى ، فَإِذَا خَشِيَ أَحَدُكُمُ الصُّبْحَ صَلَّى رَكْعَةً وَاحِدَةً تُوتِرُ لَهُ مَا قَدْ صَلَّى ” . |

| ´ہم سے عبداللہ بن یوسف نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا کہ ہمیں امام مالک رحمہ اللہ نے نافع اور عبداللہ ابن دینار سے خبر دی اور انہیں عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما نے کہ` ایک شخص نے نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے رات میں نماز کے متعلق معلوم کیا تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ رات کی نماز دو دو رکعت ہے پھر جب کوئی صبح ہو جانے سے ڈرے تو ایک رکعت پڑھ لے، وہ اس کی ساری نماز کو طاق بنا دے گی۔ |

| Narrated Ibn Umar: Once a person asked Allah’s Apostle about the night prayer. Allah’s Apostle replied, “The night prayer is offered as two Rakat followed by two Rakat and so on and if anyone is afraid of the approaching dawn (Fajr prayer) he should pray one Raka and this will be a Witr for all the Rakat which he has prayed before.” |
