| حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ ، عَنِ الشَّيْبَانِيِّ ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا , قَالَ : ” صَلَّى النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى رَجُلٍ بَعْدَ مَا دُفِنَ بِلَيْلَةٍ ، قَامَ هُوَ , وَأَصْحَابُهُ وَكَانَ سَأَلَ عَنْهُ , فَقَالَ : مَنْ هَذَا ؟ , فَقَالُوا : فُلَانٌ ، دُفِنَ الْبَارِحَةَ فَصَلَّوْا عَلَيْهِ ” . |

| ´ہم سے عثمان بن ابی شیبہ نے بیان کیا ‘ کہا کہ ہم سے جریر نے بیان کیا ‘ ان سے شیبانی نے ‘ ان سے شعبی نے اور ان سے ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما نے بیان کیا کہ` نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ایک ایسے شخص کی نماز جنازہ پڑھی جن کا انتقال رات کے وقت ہوا (اور اسے رات ہی میں دفن کر دیا گیا تھا) آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم اور آپ کے اصحاب کھڑے ہوئے اور آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ان کے متعلق پوچھا تھا کہ یہ کن کی قبر ہے۔ لوگوں نے بتایا کہ فلاں کی ہے جسے کل رات ہی دفن کیا گیا ہے۔ پھر سب نے (دوسرے روز) نماز جنازہ پڑھی۔ |

| Narrated Ibn `Abbas: The Prophet (p.b.u.h) offered the funeral prayer of a man one night after he was buried, he and his companions stood up (for the Prayer). He had asked them about him before standing, saying, “Who is this?” They said, “He is so and so and was buried last night.” So all of them offered the funeral prayer. |
