| حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مَعْمَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ هِلَالٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ , قَالَ : قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : ” أَخَذَ الرَّايَةَ زَيْدٌ فَأُصِيبَ ، ثُمَّ أَخَذَهَا جَعْفَرٌ فَأُصِيبَ ، ثُمَّ أَخَذَهَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ رَوَاحَةَ فَأُصِيبَ ، وَإِنَّ عَيْنَيْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَتَذْرِفَانِ ، ثُمَّ أَخَذَهَا خَالِدُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ مِنْ غَيْرِ إِمْرَةٍ فَفُتِحَ لَهُ ” . |

| ´ہم سے ابومعمر نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا کہ ہم سے عبدالوارث نے بیان کیا، ان سے ایوب نے، ان سے حمید بن بلال نے اور ان سے انس بن مالک رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہ` نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ زید نے جھنڈا سنبھالا لیکن وہ شہید ہو گئے۔ پھر جعفر نے سنبھالا اور وہ بھی شہید ہو گئے۔ پھر عبداللہ بن رواحہ نے سنبھالا اور وہ بھی شہید ہو گئے۔ اس وقت رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی آنکھوں میں آنسو بہ رہے تھے۔ (آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا) اور پھر خالد بن ولید نے خود اپنے طور پر جھنڈا اٹھا لیا اور ان کو فتح حاصل ہوئی۔ |

| Narrated Anas bin Malik: The Prophet said, “Zaid took over the flag and was martyred. Then it was taken by Jafar who was martyred as well. Then `Abdullah bin Rawaha took the flag but he too was martyred and at that time the eyes of Allah’s Apostle were full of tears. Then Khalid bin Al-Walid took the flag without being nominated as a chief (before hand) and was blessed with victory.” |
