| حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ فَضَالَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مِقْسَمٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا , قَالَ : ” مَرَّ بِنَا جَنَازَةٌ ، فَقَامَ لَهَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَقُمْنَا بِهِ ، فَقُلْنَا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّهَا جِنَازَةُ يَهُودِيٍّ ، قَالَ : إِذَا رَأَيْتُمُ الْجِنَازَةَ فَقُومُوا ” . |

| ´ہم سے معاذ بن فضالہ نے بیان کیا ‘ انہوں نے کہا کہ ہم سے ہشام نے بیان کیا ‘ ان سے یحییٰ بن ابی کثیر نے بیان کیا، ان سے عبید اللہ بن مقسم نے اور ان سے جابر بن عبداللہ رضی اللہ عنہما نے کہ` ہمارے سامنے سے ایک جنازہ گزرا تو نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کھڑے ہو گئے اور ہم بھی کھڑے ہو گئے۔ پھر ہم نے کہا کہ یا رسول اللہ! یہ تو یہودی کا جنازہ تھا۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ جب تم لوگ جنازہ دیکھو تو کھڑے ہو جایا کرو۔ |

| Narrated Jabir bin `Abdullah: A funeral procession passed in front of us and the Prophet stood up and we too stood up. We said, ‘O Allah’s Apostle! This is the funeral procession of a Jew.” He said, “Whenever you see a funeral procession, you should stand up.” |
