| حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ ، عَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : ” لَيْسَ الْمِسْكِينُ الَّذِي يَطُوفُ عَلَى النَّاسِ تَرُدُّهُ اللُّقْمَةُ وَاللُّقْمَتَانِ وَالتَّمْرَةُ وَالتَّمْرَتَانِ ، وَلَكِنْ الْمِسْكِينُ الَّذِي لَا يَجِدُ غِنًى يُغْنِيهِ وَلَا يُفْطَنُ بِهِ فَيُتَصَدَّقُ عَلَيْهِ وَلَا يَقُومُ فَيَسْأَلُ النَّاسَ ” . |

| ´ہم سے اسماعیل بن عبداللہ نے بیان کیا ‘ کہا کہ مجھ سے امام مالک رحمہ اللہ نے ابوالزناد سے بیان کیا ‘ ان سے اعرج نے ‘ اور ان سے ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا` مسکین وہ نہیں ہے جو لوگوں کا چکر کاٹتا پھرتا ہے تاکہ اسے دو ایک لقمہ یا دو ایک کھجور مل جائیں۔ بلکہ اصلی مسکین وہ ہے جس کے پاس اتنا مال نہیں کہ وہ اس کے ذریعہ سے بےپرواہ ہو جائے۔ اس حال میں بھی کسی کو معلوم نہیں کہ کوئی اسے صدقہ ہی دیدے اور نہ وہ خود ہاتھ پھیلانے کے لیے اٹھتا ہے۔ |

| Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah’s Apostle said, “The poor person is not the one who goes round the people and ask them for a mouthful or two (of meals) or a date or two but the poor is that who has not enough (money) to satisfy his needs and whose condition is not known to others, that others may give him something in charity, and who does not beg of people.” |
