| حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ فَضَالَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عُمَرَ ، عَنْ زَيْدِ ، عَنْ عِيَاضِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : “كُنَّا نُخْرِجُ فِي عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَ الْفِطْرِ صَاعًا مِنْ طَعَامٍ ” ، وَقَالَ أَبُو سَعِيدٍ : وَكَانَ طَعَامَنَا الشَّعِيرُ وَالزَّبِيبُ وَالْأَقِطُ وَالتَّمْرُ . |

| ´ہم سے معاذ بن فضالہ نے بیان کیا ‘ انہوں نے کہا کہ ہم سے ابوعمر حفص بن میسرہ نے بیان کیا ‘ ان سے زید بن اسلم نے بیان کیا ‘ ان سے عیاض بن عبداللہ بن سعد نے ‘ ان سے ابو سعید خدری رضی اللہ عنہ نے بیان کیا کہ` ہم نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے زمانہ میں عیدالفطر کے دن (کھانے کے غلہ سے) ایک صاع نکالتے تھے۔ ابوسعید رضی اللہ عنہ نے بیان کیا کہ ہمارا کھانا (ان دنوں) جَو، زبیب، پنیر اور کھجور تھا۔ |

| Narrated Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri: In the lifetime of Allah’s Apostle , we used to give one Sa’ of food (edible things) as Sadaqat-ul-Fitr (to the poor). Our food used to be either of barley, raisins (dried grapes), cottage cheese or dates. |
