| حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَنَّ حَمْزَةَ بْنَ عَمْرٍو الْأَسْلَمِيَّ ، قَالَ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : ” أَأَصُومُ فِي السَّفَرِ ، وَكَانَ كَثِيرَ الصِّيَامِ ؟ فَقَالَ : إِنْ شِئْتَ فَصُمْ ، وَإِنْ شِئْتَ فَأَفْطِرْ ” . |

| ´(دوسری سند امام بخاری رحمہ اللہ نے کہا کہ) اور ہم سے عبداللہ بن یوسف نے بیان کیا، انہیں امام مالک نے خبر دی، انہیں ہشام بن عروہ نے، انہیں ان کے والد نے اور انہیں نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی زوجہ مطہرہ عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے کہ` حمزہ بن عمرو اسلمی رضی اللہ عنہ نے نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے عرض کی میں سفر میں روزہ رکھوں؟ وہ روزے بکثرت رکھا کرتے تھے۔ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ اگر جی چاہے تو روزہ رکھ اور جی چاہے افطار کر۔ |

| Narrated `Aisha: (the wife of the Prophet) Hamza bin `Amr Al-Aslami asked the Prophet, “Should I fast while traveling?” The Prophet replied, “You may fast if you wish, and you may not fast if you wish.” |
