| حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي عُمَيْسٍ ، عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ ، عَنْ طَارِقِ بْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : ” كَانَ يَوْمُ عَاشُورَاءَ تَعُدُّهُ الْيَهُودُ عِيدًا،قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : فَصُومُوهُ أَنْتُمْ ” . |

| ´ہم سے علی بن عبداللہ نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ ہم سے ابواسامہ نے بیان کیا، ان سے ابوعمیس نے، ان سے قیس بن مسلم نے، ان سے طارق نے، ان سے ابن شہاب نے اور ان سے ابوموسیٰ رضی اللہ عنہ نے بیان کیا کہ` عاشوراء کے دن کو یہودی عید کا دن سمجھتے تھے اس لیے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ تم بھی اس دن روزہ رکھا کرو۔ |

| Narrated Abu Musa: The day of ‘Ashura’ was considered as `Id day by the Jews. So the Prophet ordered, “I recommend you (Muslims) to fast on this day.” |
