| حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، أَخْبَرَنِي نَافِعٌ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : ” كُنْتُ نَذَرْتُ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ أَنْ أَعْتَكِفَ لَيْلَةً فِي الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ ، قَالَ : فَأَوْفِ بِنَذْرِكَ ” . |

| ´ہم سے مسدد نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ ہم سے یحییٰ بن سعید قطان نے بیان کیا، ان سے عبیداللہ عمری نے، انہیں نافع نے خبر دی اور انہیں ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما نے کہ` عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے عرض کیا، میں نے جاہلیت میں یہ نذر مانی تھی کہ مسجد الحرام میں ایک رات کا اعتکاف کروں گا۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ اپنی نذر پوری کر۔ |

| Narrated Ibn `Umar: `Umar asked the Prophet “I vowed in the Pre-Islamic period of ignorance to stay in I`tikaf for one night in Al-Masjid al-Haram.” The Prophet said to him, “Fulfill your vow.” |
