| حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، وَمُحَمَّدِ بْنِ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ ، أنهما حدثاه ، عَنْ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ ، ” أَنَّ أَبَاهُ أَتَى بِهِ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : إِنِّي نَحَلْتُ ابْنِي هَذَا غُلَامًا ، فَقَالَ : أَكُلَّ وَلَدِكَ نَحَلْتَ مِثْلَهُ ، قَالَ : لَا ، قَالَ : فَارْجِعْهُ ” . |

| ´ہم سے عبداللہ بن یوسف نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا ہم کو امام مالک نے خبر دی ابن شہاب سے، وہ حمید بن عبدالرحمٰن اور محمد بن نعمان بن بشیر سے اور ان سے نعمان بن بشیر رضی اللہ عنہما نے کہا` ان کے والد انہیں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی خدمت میں لائے اور عرض کیا کہ میں نے اپنے اس بیٹے کو ایک غلام بطور ہبہ دیا ہے۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے دریافت فرمایا، کیا ایسا ہی غلام اپنے دوسرے لڑکوں کو بھی دیا ہے؟ انہوں نے کہا نہیں، تو آپ نے فرمایا کہ پھر (ان سے بھی) واپس لے لے۔ |

| Narrated An-Nu`man bin Bashir: that his father took him to Allah’s Apostle and said, “I have given this son of mine a slave.” The Prophet asked, “Have you given all your sons the like?” He replied in the negative. The Prophet said, “Take back your gift then.” |
