| حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ ، عَنْ عُمَارَةَ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي مَعْمَرٍ ، قَالَ : قُلْنَا لِخَبَّابٍ : ” أَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقْرَأُ فِي الظُّهْرِ وَالْعَصْرِ ؟ قَالَ : نَعَمْ ، قُلْنَا : بِمَ كُنْتُمْ تَعْرِفُونَ ذَاكَ ؟ قَالَ : بِاضْطِرَابِ لِحْيَتِهِ ” . |

| ´ہم سے موسیٰ بن اسماعیل نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ ہم سے عبدالواحد نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ ہم سے اعمش نے عمارہ بن عمیر سے بیان کیا، انہوں نے (عبداللہ بن مخبرہ) ابومعمر سے، انہوں نے بیان کیا کہ ہم نے خباب بن ارت رضی اللہ عنہ صحابی سے پوچھا` کیا رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ظہر اور عصر کی رکعتوں میں (فاتحہ کے سوا) اور کچھ قرآت کرتے تھے؟ انہوں نے فرمایا کہ ہاں۔ ہم نے عرض کی کہ آپ لوگ یہ بات کس طرح سمجھ جاتے تھے۔ فرمایا کہ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی داڑھی مبارک کے ہلنے سے۔ |

| Narrated Abu Ma`mar: We asked Khabbab whether Allah’s Apostle used to recite (the Qur’an) in the Zuhr and the `Asr prayers. He replied in the affirmative. We said, “How did you come to know about it?” He said, “By the movement of his beard.” |
