| حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُنِيرٍ ، سَمِعَ يَزِيدَ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا حُمَيْدٌ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ ، قَالَ : أَخَّرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الصَّلَاةَ ذَاتَ لَيْلَةٍ إِلَى شَطْرِ اللَّيْلِ ، ثُمَّ خَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا فَلَمَّا صَلَّى أَقْبَلَ عَلَيْنَا بِوَجْهِهِ ، فَقَالَ : ” إِنَّ النَّاسَ قَدْ صَلَّوْا وَرَقَدُوا ، وَإِنَّكُمْ لَنْ تَزَالُوا فِي صَلَاةٍ مَا انْتَظَرْتُمُ الصَّلَاةَ ” . |

| ´ہم سے عبداللہ بن منیر نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے یزید بن ہارون سے سنا، انہیں حمید ذیلی نے خبر دی، اور انہیں انس بن مالک رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہ` رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ایک رات (عشاء کی) نماز میں دیر فرمائی تقریباً آدھی رات تک۔ پھر آخر حجرہ سے باہر تشریف لائے اور نماز کے بعد ہماری طرف منہ کیا اور فرمایا کہ دوسرے لوگ نماز پڑھ کر سو چکے لیکن تم لوگ جب تک نماز کا انتظار کرتے رہے گویا کہ نماز میں رہے (یعنی تم کو نماز کا ثواب ملتا رہا)۔ |

| Narrated Anas bin Malik: Once the Prophet delayed the `Isha’ prayer until midnight and then came to us. Having prayed he faced us and said, “The people had prayed and slept but you were in the prayer as long as you were waiting for it.” |
