| فَقَالَ : وَاللَّهِ لَأُقَاتِلَنَّ مَنْ فَرَّقَ بَيْنَ الصَّلَاةِ , وَالزَّكَاةِ ، فَإِنَّ الزَّكَاةَ حَقُّ الْمَالِ , وَاللَّهِ لَوْ مَنَعُونِي عَنَاقًا كَانُوا يُؤَدُّونَهَا إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَقَاتَلْتُهُمْ عَلَى مَنْعِهَا ، قَالَ عُمَرُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ : فَوَاللَّهِ مَا هُوَ إِلَّا أَنْ قَدْ شَرَحَ اللَّهُ صَدْرَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ , فَعَرَفْتُ ، أَنَّهُ الْحَقُّ ” . |

| ´اس پر ابوبکر صدیق رضی اللہ عنہ نے جواب دیا کہ` قسم اللہ کی میں ہر اس شخص سے جنگ کروں گا جو زکوٰۃ اور نماز میں تفریق کرے گا۔ (یعنی نماز تو پڑھے مگر زکوٰۃ کے لیے انکار کر دے) کیونکہ زکوٰۃ مال کا حق ہے۔ اللہ کی قسم! اگر انہوں نے زکوٰۃ میں چار مہینے کی (بکری کے) بچے کو دینے سے بھی انکار کیا جسے وہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو دیتے تھے تو میں ان سے لڑوں گا۔ عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے فرمایا کہ بخدا یہ بات اس کا نتیجہ تھی کہ اللہ تعالیٰ نے ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ کا سینہ اسلام کے لیے کھول دیا تھا اور بعد میں، میں بھی اس نتیجہ پر پہنچا کہ ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ ہی حق پر تھے۔ |

| Abu Bakr said, “By Allah! I will fight those who differentiate between the prayer and the Zakat as Zakat is the compulsory right to be taken from the property (according to Allah’s orders) By Allah! If they refuse to pay me even a she-kid which they used to pay at the time of Allah’s Apostle . I would fight with them for withholding it” Then `Umar said, “By Allah, it was nothing, but Allah opened Abu Bakr’s chest towards the decision (to fight) and I came to know that his decision was right.” |
