| حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ جَبَلَةَ بْنِ سُحَيْمٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، يَقُولُ : قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : ” الشَّهْرُ هَكَذَا وَهَكَذَا ، وَخَنَسَ الْإِبْهَامَ فِي الثَّالِثَةِ ” . |

| ´ہم سے ابوالولید نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے شعبہ نے بیان کیا، ان سے جبلہ بن سحیم نے بیان کیا، کہ میں نے ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے سنا، انہوں نے بیان کیا کہ` رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا مہینہ اتنے دنوں اور اتنے دنوں کا ہوتا ہے۔ تیسری مرتبہ کہتے ہوئے آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے انگھوٹھے کو دبا لیا۔ |

| Narrated Ibn `Umar: The Prophet said, “The month is like this and this,” (at the same time he showed the fingers of both his hands thrice) and left out one thumb on the third time. |
