| حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَتْنِي حَفْصَةُ ، ” أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ إِذَا اعْتَكَفَ الْمُؤَذِّنُ لِلصُّبْحِ وَبَدَا الصُّبْحُ صَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ خَفِيفَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ أَنْ تُقَامَ الصَّلَاةُ ” . |

| ´ہم سے عبداللہ بن یوسف تنیسی نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ ہمیں امام مالک نے نافع سے خبر دی، انہوں نے عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے، انہوں نے کہا مجھے ام المؤمنین حفصہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے خبر دی کہ` رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی عادت تھی کہ جب مؤذن صبح کی اذان صبح صادق کے طلوع ہونے کے بعد دے چکا ہوتا تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم اذان اور تکبیر کے بیچ نماز قائم ہونے سے پہلے دو ہلکی سی رکعتیں پڑھتے۔ |

| Narrated Hafsa: When the Mu’adh-dhin pronounced the Adhan for Fajr prayer and the dawn became evident the Prophet ordered a two rak`at light prayer (Sunna) before the Iqama of the compulsory (congregational) prayer. |
