| حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي قَيْسٌ ، عَنْ أَبِي مَسْعُودٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : ” الشَّمْسُ وَالْقَمَرُ لَا يَنْكَسِفَانِ لِمَوْتِ أَحَدٍ وَلَا لِحَيَاتِهِ وَلَكِنَّهُمَا آيَتَانِ مِنْ آيَاتِ اللَّهِ ، فَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمُوهُمَا فَصَلُّوا ” . |

| ´ہم سے مسدد نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ ہم سے یحییٰ قطان نے اسماعیل بن ابی خالد سے بیان کیا، کہا کہ مجھ سے قیس نے بیان کیا، ان سے ابومسعود عقبہ بن عامر انصاری صحابی رضی اللہ عنہ نے بیان کیا کہ` رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا سورج اور چاند میں گرہن کسی کی موت کی وجہ سے نہیں لگتا البتہ یہ دونوں اللہ تعالیٰ کی نشانیاں ہیں، اس لیے جب تم گرہن دیکھو تو نماز پڑھو۔ |

| Narrated Abu Mas`ud: Allah’s Apostle said, “The sun and the moon do not eclipse because of someone’s death or life but they are two signs amongst the signs of Allah, so pray whenever you see them.” |
